WHO ARE WE?

We are Nuba Mountains youth association organization for development and change established in 2020 and registered in January 2022 with the secretariat of media and information youth sport and culture.

The association was set up to facilitate youth social activities within the Nuba Mountains region in collaboration with other NGOS, Government institutions, faith based organizations, international organizations and any other body that works in the field of serving the young people we collectively work in partnership to ensure that all the youth services are rendered as demand dictates We as the Nuba mountains region youth do believe in serving the humanity and the liberation of our societies from the bondage of suffering to a better society suitable for a healthy and prosperous lives.

We are therefore committed to empowering, mentoring, assisting and guiding our societies to work towards a just, equitable and democratic state capable of serving the interest of the general public regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion or race.
We sacrifice our time, energy and lives to serving our people regardless of the challenges we are committed to services delivery.
We do here by adopt this document as a basic principle, policy and guideline for our operation.

OUR BACKGROUND

The Nuba mountains youth association existed in the five regions of the SPLM/A liberated area (Nuba Mountains, Bahar eel Gazal, Equatorial, Upper Nile and Blue Nile regions. The youth had newsletter department with many other program which were linked to some African countries like Zimbabwe, Kenya and South Africa as well as Europe and America.Unfortunitly most of those first members died during the war but the vision is still strong.

The association was registered back in the first war of SPLM/A with laws of New Sudan in the liberated area in 2001. The Youth association was funded by UNICEF, Pact Sudan and other INGOs during the operation line Sudan (OLS). whereby the big hall was constructed as youth resources center.

In June /6/ 2011 when the war broke out, most of the youth documents were destroyed. While Some of current building remained which motivated the members to recollect youth groups to form the Youth organization to develop a change strategy and re-established a youth body in 2020 and registered in January 2022 with the secretariat of media and information youth sport and culture. The youth association is registered as Nuba Mountains Youth Association Organization for Development and Change (NMYAO).

The association exists to facilitate youth social-economic activities to demonstrate active innovative, just and inclusive activities within communities in collaboration with other actors e.g. NGOS, Government institutions, faith-based organizations, INGOs to work toward strengthening, building and developing young people, ensuring youth services that meets their dreams and vision and linking members to various counties and communities to interact and exchange ideas, views and concerns, building innovative and creative initiatives for development under the themes of participation, development and peace.

We envision to build a creative, innovative, patriotic and committed youth capable of handling their own challenges independently. Our mission is to transform, empower and support each other in the region and in the neighboring communities.
